Kostas Stamos
Short CV: Kostas Stamos was born in Patras, Greece in 1978. He has received his Diploma, Master Degree and PhD from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department at the University of Patras. His diploma thesis was on the subject of multicast video transmission supporting adaptive QoS, while his research subject for the PhD was the automated brokering of network resources and especially in conjunction with the IPv6 protocol. He has worked for the Networking Technologies Sector of CTI from the end of 1999 until December 2000, where he participated at the implementation of the web site and various maintenance and management tasks for the Greek School Network, and the development of a webmail service for the same project. Since July 2001 he works as a R&D Computer Engineer with Research Unit 6 of CTI, where he has participated in R&D projects such as GN3plus, GN3, GN-2, Games@Large, ASP-NG, 6NET, ATMNET, VNOC-3 and the development of videoconferencing applications for the Greek Telecommunications Organization (OTE). He has also taught at the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department at the University of Patras, at the Technological Educational Institute of Patras and at the Hellenic Open University. He has published 11 articles in Journals and 41 papers in well-known refereed conferences. He is also co-author of 2 technical books, several encyclopaedia articles and of a Global Grid Forum (GGF) standard document. He speaks English and German fluently.
